Kier Bear has recently arrived at the Mersey Gateway project for the next leg of his adventure. The Bear arrived by tuk-tuk from our Wigan site and was greeted by Site Champion Neil Wilcock, Merseylink Employment & Skills Coordinator.
The team had
planned several activities to take part in with the Bear including a trip to
the top of one of the pylons for a photo opportunity; a visit to the top of
both the north and south Movable Scaffold system (MSS), which is being used to build the south elevated approach
viaduct and finally a 13 mile run with Neil Wilcock to hand over to our next
site at Urenco.
Neil decided to run the 13 miles to safely deliver the Kier bear to the next stop.
Neil, a
veteran of iron man competitions, volunteered to run the entire distance, with
only teddy for company! He set off from Section 8 and completed the journey in
1 hour 37 minutes.
Not even working up a sweat!
