Dowrglann to A30

Our Dowrglann team received our bear, and took a few days to show him around the local Cornwall area.

They took him to visit the Castle Canyke Depot to meet the team.

He then went to Newquay to take part in Surf lifesaving training, where he ventured into the water.

It had been a while since our bears last refresh, and he was starting to smell after so team champion Sarah took him home for a little TLC.

To round off the week, they held a fundraising day with bacon rolls, cake sale and raffle, which raised £222. Unfortunately the bacon roll cooking caused the fire alarms to go off which caused a temporary delay to proceedings!!

He took a lunch break at Charlestown the ancient Cornish harbour which has been used as a set for many films and TV programmes most recently Poldark.

On the weekend our bear Panda visted the Eden Project and “flew” on the Skywire with our brave volunteer Felicity Baxter.

He then had a look around the biomes and bumped into celebrity chef Phil Vickery!

On a sunny Sunday the bear visited Marazion to take in the view of St. Michael’s Mount and then Lands End (see top photo).

The Dowrglann team have decided that they would like half their funds to be donated to the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.

After wonderful time with the team, the bear left Dowrglann for its journey to the A30 office on Monday by bicycle with Joseph Maude.
